Join the CarAdvice Double Mega Test at Motorworld Sydney: Help us test the cars and give us your opinion

If you’ve always wanted to try your skills as a CarAdvice tester, or if you’re in the market for a new car and would like to do some cross-shopping, this is your chance. Later this year, we’ll be conducting two of our biggest mega tests, ever. And, for the first time, we’re inviting you to be part of it.

The CarAdvice Double Mega Test will be taking place at MotorWorld Sydney, a new automotive event at Sydney Motorsport Park (Eastern Creek) from Thursday December 1 to Sunday December 4, 2016.

So, whether you’re local or looking for an excuse to visit Sydney for a weekend, you should consider getting a ticket to MotorWorld Sydney. There’s a huge program of automotive entertainment included in the ticket price, and you can also meet the CarAdvice team and test-drive some of the cars included in our Mega Tests.

CarAdvice is conducting two separate mega tests that you can be part of, each looking at a particular segment of cars. We’ll be asking you to give us your opinion on the cars, to help us choose the winners.

The first test is comparing performance cars priced below $60,000. This includes a wide range of hot hatches, sports cars and sedans that all have a performance angle and are likely to appeal to keen car enthusiasts.

The second test is looking at the hugely popular segment of compact SUVs. This is a growing category in Australia, with a massive number of options available for buyers across many price brackets. The tests will compare some of the most popular cars in this segment and give buyers a chance to drive them, try out some of the features and give their opinion on how they compare.

How do I get involved?

To be part of the CarAdvice Mega Tests, you first need to buy a ticket to MotorWorld Sydney. As part of the online ticket purchase, you will be able to pre-book up to three different cars that you would like to test drive.

Each drive experience lasts approximately one hour which includes a safety briefing, an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the features, and a 20-minute supervised test drive incorporating a range of interesting manoeuvres designed to help you evaluate the cars in a safe environment. It’s not a hot lap, it’s a test drive – but we’ll make sure you have plenty of fun in the process.

There is a wide range of vehicles available to drive, so if you’re in the market for a particular model or have always wanted to test-drive one of these cars, please register now and pre-book the models you want to drive on the day.

Included in the Performance Car Mega Test are a broad range of performance models such as the Toyota 86, Nissan 370z, Ford Focus RS and Focus ST, Ford Fiesta ST, Ford Mustang, Subaru Levorg, Holden Commodore SS, Hyundai Veloster SR Turbo, BMW 125i, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce, Mini Cooper S and Peugeot 308 GTI.

As part of the Compact SUV Mega Test, you are able to pre-book test drives in models such as Suzuki Vitara Turbo, Honda HR-V, Holden Trax, Nissan Qashqai, Citroen Cactus, Mitsubishi ASX, Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, Fiat 500X, Subaru XV, BMW X1 and Infiniti QX30.

All test drives will be conducted inside Motorsport Park, either on the circuit or the dirt roads inside the venue. A CarAdvice volunteer will accompany each drive to ensure they are carried out in a safe manner, but you’re welcome to bring your family or friends with you (space permitting). And, for obvious reasons, you must have a valid Australian driving licence.

If you’re interested in test-driving any of the models included in our Mega Tests, we recommend you buy your tickets now and reserve the three vehicles you want to test. Numbers are limited and they are likely to fill up fast.

Full-day tickets for Motorworld Sydney are $49 for adults and $110 for a family.
